Elevator Motors/Materials Corporation (EMCO) now
offers the most versatile and complete line of load
weighing sensors and controls to the elevator industry.
For traction elevators, EMCO can provide a variety
of load sensors that can be located within the elevator
hoist way. There are load sensors that can mount on
the Cross Head
(Model SV), Under
the cab (Model TCA), under the Traction
Machine (Model BPP) or on the traction ropes (Models
LCA, SW
or SWK).
Determine the easiest most effective location and
we have a sensor solution.
For Hydraulic
Elevators (Model CH100), we offer a load sensor
that is easily integrated into the hydraulic lines
and senses pressure change and corresponding load
change in the cab.
EMCO offers a full complement of load controls that
work in conjunction with our load sensors and are
easily integrated with any elevator controller. Our
Solid State Digital
Electronic Load Controls (Model VK) are available
with up to three customer programmable relays. In
addition, these controls can be provide with a 4-20ma,
0-10vdc or serial communications that are directly
proportional to load. This information can be used
to determine full cab, empty cab and actual cab load
conditions to optimize elevator capacity and insure
passenger safety and comfort. There is also available
a Cabin Display
(Model MBD) that connects directly to
each solid state electronic load control and provides
a both visual and sound indications of load.
Finally, for traction elevators, we have a load weighing
system that not only measures the load in the cab
but also provides individual load measurement for
each of the traction ropes of the elevator. With this
load weighing system a technician can accurately determine
the tension on each traction rope, quantitatively
equalize the rope tension thereby increasing traction
rope and traction sheave life.
EMCO’s load weighing system provides:
• Safe operation of the elevator for passenger
and elevator by preventing overloads.
• Extended rope and sheave life.
• Better and more efficient operation of the
elevator with accurate load measurement and communication
to the elevator controller.
